This is the bankruptcy case study for Mr. Winston.  Mr. Winston lives on Gladys Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, which is in Cook County, Illinois.  No prior bankruptcy.  He does own a single-family home worth approximately $150,000.00.  His balance on it is $52,000.00, so he has significant equity in his home, which means Chapter 7 is out.  He has a 2002 Buick LeSabre, which is paid for, worth about $4,000.00.  He has a 2000 Dodge Durango, which is paid for, which is worth about $6,000.00, and a 1997 Oldsmobile, which is paid for, which is worth about $1,000.00.  So he’s got equity in a home and equity in three vehicles.  That’s not going to work for a Chapter 7.  He works for the post office, and he’s making decent money, so that’ll cancel him out, too.  So, unfortunately, we’re not able to get a fresh start for Mr. Winston out of Chicago, Illinois.  I would only consider Chapter 13 for Mr. Winston.  He would have to be willing to enter into a 3-5 year repayment plan.
