It is widely known that credit card companies aggressively market on campus, and off, to college students. This recent study by U.S. PIRG, the federation of state Public Interest Research Groups documents this despicable tactic.
Please encourage students that you know to be aware of and not fall prey to these tactics !
Congress has realized this is a problem as well:

Many of the solicitations target students, persons currently on the economic edge, senior citizens on fixed incomes, and persons who have recently had their debts discharged in bankruptcy.
